As spring brings warmth, mountains and seas meet. On March 26, 2026, the delegation from the Malaysian National Technical and Vocational Education and Training Committee arrived from afar to visit Dalian Maple Leaf College of Technology, conducting a 12-day "Chinese + Vocational Skills" specialized training exchange on Alzheimer's disease treatment and rehabilitation. After systematic theoretical study, clinical institution visits, and hands-on skill training, this international training exchange successfully completed all agendas, with the closing ceremony held in the lecture hall of the college's Qidingshan Campus. This cross-national vocational education exchange, bridging through Chinese language, connecting through skills, and bonding through friendship, came to a successful conclusion.

On the afternoon of March 26, the Malaysian delegation arrived smoothly in Dalian. The college welcomed the distant guests with thoughtful and meticulous reception, holding a welcome dinner and ice-breaking interactive exchange that evening, opening a warm prelude to this training exchange.

At the opening ceremony, college leaders extended a warm welcome to the delegation, comprehensively introducing the school's educational characteristics, achievements in international education, and the professional strength and practical training conditions of the Nursing Industry College in fields such as elderly care, dementia intervention, and rehabilitation treatment, officially launching this specialized training course.

This training focused on core content including Alzheimer's disease care, dementia intervention, neurological rehabilitation, evidence-based rehabilitation, and traditional therapy empowerment, inviting senior experts from within and outside the school to teach, with a professional, systematic, and practical curriculum system. From dementia care practice to scientific decoding of neuroplasticity, from evidence-based rehabilitation policies to interactive teaching of traditional therapies, the experts explained profound concepts in simple terms and taught meticulously, while the students studied earnestly and interacted actively, achieving comprehensive improvement in theoretical literacy and professional skills.

To achieve deep integration of theory and practice, the college carefully organized clinical front-line visit and exchange activities, successively leading students to visit Dalian Ruikang Home Elderly Care Center, Sinopharm (Dalian) Rehabilitation Hospital, and Dalian Liguang Rehabilitation Hospital, conducting on-site observations of dementia care units and Alzheimer's disease rehabilitation zones, participating in hands-on practice and thematic forums, and learning about domestic advanced care models and rehabilitation technologies up close, truly achieving the combination of learning and application, and the unity of knowledge and practice. During the training period, the delegation also visited the school's Qidingshan Campus industry-education integration base, giving high recognition to the college's modern practical training conditions and the "post-course integration" talent cultivation model.

At the closing ceremony, important guests including Ms. Wong Mee Woon, State Assemblywoman for Pantai Remis, Perak, Malaysia, and Dr. Ang Sin Yen, Secretary General of the Malaysian Association of Social Care (MASOC), attended; Yang Jie, President of Dalian Maple Leaf College of Technology, Ellis Ai, Group General Manager and Vice President, Wang Shan, Assistant to the President and Dean of the Nursing Industry College, as well as faculty and student representatives, attended together. Ms. Yang Ping, Chairperson of the school, was unable to attend in person due to official duties and specially entrusted school leaders to convey sincere greetings to the Malaysian guests and all students.

At the ceremony, President Yang Jie delivered a speech stating that this international training is an important practice in the school's international education 4.0 era, representing pragmatic cooperation with "Chinese language as the bridge, skills as the medium, and friendship as the bond." The school will continue to deepen all-round cooperation between China and Malaysia in vocational education, elderly care services, cultural exchanges, and other fields, jointly building a bridge for international vocational education cooperation.

State Assemblywoman Wong Mee Woon and Dr. Ang Sin Yen delivered speeches successively, giving high praise and sincere thanks to Dalian Maple Leaf College of Technology for its careful organization, professional courses, and heartwarming services. Mr. Lee Choon Siao, Chairman of the Board of Malaysia Qi Hang Project, sent a video message online, encouraging students to apply what they learned, integrate knowledge with practice, and become friendly messengers for China-Malaysia health initiatives and cultural exchanges.

A solemn graduation certificate awarding ceremony was held on-site, with President Yang Jie presenting certificates to all students; concurrently, an appointment ceremony was held, with Dean Wang Shan appointed as a specially invited expert for China-Malaysia vocational education cooperation under the Malaysia Qi Hang Project. During the "Chasing Dreams Together, Malay Style" segment, Malaysian students showcased characteristic culture and shared care skills, with warm interactions and touching moments. The Nursing Industry College presented a themed drama "The Benevolent Heart of a Doctor - The Path of Bethune," conveying the responsibility of medical practitioners and the spirit of international cooperation through heartfelt performance, bringing the ceremony to a successful close.

Those who share the same aspirations are not separated by mountains and seas. The successful hosting of this China-Malaysia training project is an important achievement for the school in deepening international cultural exchanges and advancing the internationalization of vocational education, and is also a practical initiative serving the "Belt and Road" initiative and promoting the export of Chinese vocational education standards and skills. Maple Leaf College of Technology will continue to adhere to its international education characteristics, deepen industry-education integration and skill cooperation between China and foreign countries, focus on cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents with international vision and exquisite skills, and contribute greater strength to China-foreign cultural exchanges and high-quality development of vocational education.
