Overview 

Dalian Maple Leaf College of Technology is a full-time higher education institution approved by the People’s Government of Liaoning Province and registered with the Ministry of Education, established in 2005. It is a science- and engineering-focused vocational institution dedicated to developing industry-relevant skills and talent.

The College is guided by its mission of “rooted in industry, cultivating talent” and has developed a distinctive model of vocational education in which programmes are closely aligned with industry value chains and teaching is embedded within real production environments.

The College comprises eight schools that offer flexible learning pathways, integrating classroom instruction with industry-based work placements. This model combines academic study with practical industrial engagement to deliver high-quality vocational training.

With over 10,000 enrolled students and more than 700 faculty members, the College has become a national benchmark for vocational education reform and innovation, and has been visited by numerous senior officials from both national and provincial governments.

Its 50 programmes are designed to meet the needs of strategic sectors, including AI, the digital economy, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, urban services, the low-altitude economy, and cybersecurity.

1. School of Intelligent Internet Industry

Focus: AI, IoT, Cloud Computing
Scale: 478 students | 41 faculty

Delivers industry-integrated training in artificial intelligence and IoT, embedding real project experience from leading firms such as iSoftStone. A fully equipped IoT training centre enables hands-on learning through enterprise-led projects. Graduates are widely employed within the Huawei ecosystem and major digital technology firms.

2. School of Digital Economy Industry

Focus: E-commerce, Digital Media, Data Operations
Scale: 678 students | 49 faculty

Operates a “flagship + innovation hubs + enterprise network” model, co-developing curricula with Alibaba and Douyin. Features a 500m⟡ e-commerce incubation base and live-streaming commerce training, achieving over RMB 2 million annual sales in applied projects.

3. School of Nursing Healthcare

Focus: Healthcare & Elderly Care
Scale: 4,160 students | 252 faculty

A provincial nursing examination centre with consistently above-average pass rates. Hosts a 17,000m⟡ training facility and integrates international (U.S.) curricula. Extends services into elderly care and community health innovation, including entrepreneurship support for ageing populations.

4. School of Intelligent Manufacturing (Future Industry)

Focus: Advanced Manufacturing, Robotics, Energy Equipment
Scale: 2,383 students | 170 faculty

Invested over RMB 65 million in advanced facilities. Co-developed nuclear equipment manufacturing and training centres with China National Nuclear Corporation. Integrates real industrial production orders into teaching, achieving full “education–production” alignment.

5. School of Intelligent Urban Services

Focus: Aviation Services, Logistics, Smart Finance
Scale: 1,936 students | 142 faculty

Recognised as a provincial high-level specialty cluster. Provides services for major global events (e.g., World Economic Forum, Olympics). Operates aviation and rail simulators and a tourism enterprise supporting over 5,000 participants annually.

6. School of Low-Altitude Economy Industry

Focus: UAV Technology, Industrial Internet, Robotics

Hosts the region’s first CAAC-certified drone pilot training centre. Combines simulation and real-world deployment, with students participating in government and enterprise drone operations (e.g., inspection, agriculture).

7. School of Safety, Emergency Management & Cryptography

Focus: Emergency Response, Public Safety
Scale: 176 students | 16 faculty

Aligned with the national “Safe China” strategy, delivering training in emergency response and fire rescue. Engages directly with government agencies, contributing to national training materials and public safety programmes.

8. School of Cryptography Technology

Focus: Cybersecurity, Cryptographic Technology
Scale: 30 students | 10 faculty

Among the first vocational institutions in China to offer cryptography programmes. Hosts national competitions and collaborates with regulatory bodies to develop talent pipelines in cybersecurity and data protection.
