At 9:30 local time on May 11 in the United Kingdom (16:30 Beijing time on May 11), Professor Liu Shaojia, Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Oxford, Director of the UK Campus of Peking University HSBC Business School, Research Fellow at the Institute of Economics and Statistics of the University of Oxford, Research Fellow at an Oxford college, and Head of the college's International Development College, held an online meeting with college leaders to conduct in-depth communication on the next stage of the college's international development. College Chairperson Yang Ping, President Yang Jie, and relevant college leaders attended the meeting.

Since being appointed as Head of the college's International Development College on May 5, Professor Liu Shaojia, relying on his profound Oxford academic background and international resources, has carried out extensive preliminary research and preparation work. At the meeting, Professor Liu clearly stated that the first step in the college's international development will focus on Oxford Brookes University, taking the lead in contacting and exploring cooperation possibilities. He proposed that through cooperation, degree authorization will be sought, and a "3+1" cooperative training system will be promoted to enhance the level of higher education. At the same time, combining current high-skill industry demands, an internationalized cooperation model of industry-education integration will be built. Through the dual-wheel drive of "academic education + industry education," an international development path with vocational education characteristics will be formed.

Chairperson Yang Ping expressed gratitude to Professor Liu Shaojia for his hard work and reported on the college's current development situation and latest initiatives in international education.

The college's Intelligent Manufacturing Future College, Nursing Industry College, and Smart City Service Industry College successively reported their work to Professor Liu Shaojia, providing detailed introductions to the characteristics of each department and entry points for international cooperation. Professor Liu provided point-by-point analysis and comments, and proposed implementable plans for specific cooperation content. He specifically pointed out: in the intelligent manufacturing field, precise docking can be achieved with Oxford Brookes University's manufacturing-related majors; in the nursing industry, Brookes University's nursing major has strong strength, and the United Kingdom has high demand for nurses with many employment opportunities, enabling student export and participation in the international employment market; the Smart City Service Industry College can dock with Brookes University's hospitality management major, using this to build an international employment market and export hotel professionals to tourism countries.

Both sides clarified future cooperation directions and explored the possibilities of deeper-level cooperation with international institutions such as conditional mutual visits, open reception, and student exchange. In addition, they can recruit students for the international market, utilizing existing teaching forces and the college's international student resources, combined with the cooperation foundation already established by the college in Southeast Asia and countries along the "Belt and Road," to organize students to study in Oxford. Both sides also reached consensus on jointly building a Traditional Chinese Medicine rehabilitation cooperation center, planning to rely on Oxford Brookes University's health discipline advantages and the college's nursing and rehabilitation professional foundations to promote Traditional Chinese Medicine rehabilitation technology to the international stage, creating a new highlight of international cooperation in vocational education with Chinese characteristics.

Standing at a new starting point of serving national strategies and promoting the internationalization of vocational education, the college will adopt a more open posture, steadily export high-quality Chinese courses, accelerate the layout of overseas service centers, and focus on cultivating vocational education talents for the global market. By promoting students to obtain both domestic and international professional qualifications, the college is not only committed to enhancing the international competitiveness of talents but will also tell China's stories well and disseminate China's wisdom, effectively strengthening national soft power, and contributing the unique strength of vocational education to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
