To commemorate the 115th 5·12 International Nurses Day, deeply mourn the 18th anniversary of the Wenchuan Earthquake, carry forward the original aspiration of medical practitioners and inherit the spirit of dedication and commitment, at 10:00 a.m. on May 12, the college grandly held the themed celebration activity "Passing the Torch to Inherit Benevolence, Practicing with Dedication to Guard Youth" and the nurse capping ceremony at the sports field of Daheishi Campus. All teachers and students of the Nursing Industry College and nursing major students from Dalian Xingang Customs Clearance Technical School gathered together to jointly witness the sacred inheritance of the glory of the white uniform.
The activity officially opened with the solemn and grand flag-raising ceremony and the singing of the national anthem. The entire audience stood solemnly in tribute, with family-country sentiments and the original aspiration of protecting life blending and surging, gathering majestic strength to forge ahead.
The sacred and solemn capping ceremony brought the entire activity to its climax. Teachers entered one by one, presenting the nurse caps symbolizing sanctity and mission to nursing student representatives. Each nurse cap carried professional faith, and each candle transmitted the immortal spirit of Florence Nightingale's "burning oneself to illuminate others." Led by Jin Mohan, Vice President of the Student Union, all newly minted nursing personnel raised their right fists and solemnly swore. After the capping ceremony, Wang Shan, Dean of the Nursing Industry College, delivered a speech. Students from Dalian Xingang Customs Clearance Technical School brought the skills demonstration "Life Warriors," using standardized, precise, and proficient first-aid operations to vividly interpret the professional competence and sense of responsibility of guarding life in the "Golden Four Minutes."
Teachers and students of the Nursing Industry College devotedly presented "Mountains and Rivers Unscathed, White Uniforms as Armor —— Earthquake Rescue and Life Protection Scenario Display," authentically restoring the emergency rescue scene and profoundly interpreting the fearless spirit and medical sentiments of charging forward in white uniforms; all nursing major students made their finale appearance with the hand gesture dance "Life is Well," using gentle and agile fingertips to transmit warmth and hope, praising life and saluting the original aspiration. The activity site deeply mourned the compatriots who perished in the Wenchuan Earthquake, inheriting and carrying forward the great earthquake relief spirit, triggering strong resonance and deep emotion throughout the audience.
This activity specially featured an adulthood ceremony, holding an exclusive gift-giving for nursing students born in 2008 who share the same birth year as the Wenchuan Earthquake. College leaders presented adult blessings and commemorative gifts to the students, encouraging everyone to take 18 years old as a new starting point, remember history, be grateful and forge ahead, integrate family-country sentiments into professional ideals, and with the self of youth and the self of struggle, shoulder the sacred responsibilities of medical workers.
