The meeting strictly implemented the "First Topic" system. Secretary of the Party Committee Wei Xiaofeng first led the study of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping on May 14, 2026, during his talks with U.S. President Trump. He emphasized the need to accurately grasp the new positioning of China-U.S. relations, deeply comprehend the great significance of the summit meeting, seize new opportunities for international exchange and cooperation, and inject new momentum into the college's open education.
Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President Yang Jie led the study of "Practical Cases of Establishing and Practicing a Correct View of Political Achievements During General Secretary Xi Jinping's Work in Zhejiang." He provided an in-depth interpretation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on establishing and practicing a correct view of political achievements, combining practical cases such as the "Thousand Villages Demonstration and Ten Thousand Villages Renovation" Project and improving rural school conditions during the General Secretary's work in Zhejiang. From three dimensions — steadfastly adhering to fostering virtue through education, basing on characteristic development, and persisting in doing practical things for the people — he clarified the practical path for the college to practice the view of political achievements, emphasizing the need to persist in practical work and responsibility, eliminate surface articles, and promote the high-quality development of the college with solid achievements.
Xue Fei, Director of the Propaganda Department, led the study around "holding high the banner of thought and building a solid ideological position," conveying the latest requirements of the Provincial Education Department on ideological and political work in colleges and universities. He emphasized that colleges and universities, as the front line of ideological work, shoulder the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and must firmly grasp the leadership, management, and discourse power of ideological work. He proposed to further fulfill responsibilities for ideological work, integrating ideological work into the entire process of education and teaching, international exchange, and campus management.
Ailis, Director of the United Front Work Department, conveyed relevant requirements for resisting and preventing religious infiltration into campuses, providing a detailed interpretation of superior arrangements for campus religious prevention and control, and clarifying work priorities and implementation measures. He stated that the principle of separation between education and religion must be adhered to, legally protecting citizens' legitimate freedom of religious belief, strictly grasping the four elements of "organization, venue, personnel, and content" for legitimate religion, and resolutely resisting and preventing religious infiltration into campuses.
During the discussion and exchange segment, all participants expressed their views and built consensus around the theme of "based on the new positioning of China-U.S. relations, how to promote the quality and efficiency improvement of our college's international exchange and China-foreign cooperation," combining their position responsibilities and educational reality. Participants both shared the existing achievements of the college's international exchange work and directly faced outstanding issues in international student management, proposing specific suggestions for optimized management. At the same time, around the reform of the international student management system, they clarified the need to persist in joint management, form special management teams, innovate management methods by drawing on the college's past successful reform experience, strengthen ideological and political leadership, fulfill the responsibilities of various departments, and build a solid foundation for the quality and efficiency improvement of international exchange and cooperation through refined management, effectively transforming discussion results into specific ideas and practical measures for promoting work.
In his concluding speech, Secretary of the Party Committee Wei Xiaofeng put forward three requirements for promoting the transformation of learning results: First, strengthen theoretical armament and build political loyalty, continuously study and comprehend Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in depth, and effectively transform learning results into firm political beliefs and action consciousness.
