After completing the visits to the two colleges, the study tour group moved to the Smart City Service Industry College, successively visiting on-site characteristic practical training scenarios such as the aviation simulation cabin and high-speed rail training cabin. Relying on immersive practical training equipment, they personally experienced the achievements of modern intelligent vocational education construction. Simultaneously, they appreciated the static sand painting art exhibition, comprehensively experiencing the full-chain, diversified high-quality educational heritage of the Daheishi Campus. After the appreciation, the study tour group began the hands-on practice session, personally engaging in the creation of characteristic sand bottle crafts. Within the small bottle body and with colorful fine sand, the American students freely matched colors and layered sand, merging creativity with Eastern handmade aesthetics, and appreciating the unique artistic conception of the intangible cultural heritage of sand art through every pour and layer, feeling the vitality and exquisiteness of traditional Chinese folk art. In the tea art study class, the study tour group studied traditional Chinese tea ceremony etiquette, identifying and appreciating tea, and personally practicing the complete tea art procedures of warming the cup, placing tea, and pouring water, comprehending the etiquette connotation and Eastern elegant life philosophy carried by tea culture amidst the rising tea fragrance.
As the Dragon Boat Festival approached, the college closely aligned with the traditional festival cultural heritage to offer special study courses. The study tour group systematically traced the historical origins, folk evolution, and cultural connotations of the Dragon Boat Festival, personally cutting fabric and filling mugwort and spices to sew blessing sachets, and personally selecting rice and wrapping reeds to form Dragon Boat Festival zongzi. Through the hands-on labor of every stitch and thread, every leaf and wrap, they deeply comprehended the traditional cultural meaning of the Dragon Boat Festival in warding off evil and welcoming blessings, and ensuring family and national well-being, and truly understood the humanistic sentiments rooted in the land of China that traditional festivals carry.
Stepping out of the campus buildings, the study tour group entered the cherry industrial park in the suburbs of Dalian, immersively experiencing the characteristic rural farming life of northern China. Amidst the cherry trees laden with fruit, teachers and students personally picked local famous cherries, savoring the characteristics of local products and the leisure charm of rural life, and feeling up close the natural vitality and atmosphere of daily life in Chinese villages amidst the mountain scenery.
A journey of folk custom study, an encounter of civilizations. The diversified immersive cultural experience broke down geographical and cultural barriers, allowing the American students to personally touch the concrete and vivid excellent traditional Chinese culture. Chinese and American youth collaborated hand in hand and exchanged thoughts, cultivating transnational friendship through cultural blending.
