On June 6, Li Xin, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Canoe Association, Team Leader of the National Canoe Team and Treasurer of the International Canoe Federation; Jiang Haiyang, Director of Liaoning Water Sports Management Center; Wang Jing, Deputy Director of Liaoning Water Sports Management Center; Hu Haicheng, Deputy Team Leader of the Chinese National Canoe Team; and other officials visited our college for an inspection. As a supporting unit for water sports, the college fully supported the 2025 National Rowing Championships last year and launched cooperation with Liaoning Water Sports Management Center in training sports rehabilitation specialists this year. Its solid support capacity and professional competence earned the full trust of the visiting delegation.Yang Ping, Chairperson of the college, Yang Jie, President, Gao Chenglin, Executive Vice President, Wang Shan, Assistant to the President, Jia Zhihai, Director of the Party and Administrative Office, Xue Fei, Director of the Publicity Department, Wang Simeng, Assistant to the Chairperson, and other college leaders warmly received the guests.

The delegation first inspected the accommodation, training and living areas designated for the upcoming National Canoe Championships and other related water sports events. The neat and bright dormitories, fully-equipped gymnasium and standard catering center will provide solid support for athletes during their stay and training. Afterwards, the guests inspected the practical training facilities of the college's Nursing Industry College on site. Equipped with advanced devices equivalent to those in Grade-A tertiary hospitals, the facilities left a deep impression on Vice Chairman Li Xin and the delegation. The guests learned in detail about the college's teaching and practical capabilities in rehabilitation and nursing, and planned to conduct further communication on athlete rehabilitation, physical examination and other related matters.


At the ensuing forum, Chairperson Yang Ping introduced the overall development of the college group, and elaborated on the layout of its eight industrial colleges and the orientation of international development. She stated that the college attaches great importance to the development of water sports. The college is committed to leveraging its professional strengths in rehabilitation medicine, sports nursing, talent training and event support, providing full-chain services for water sports teams ranging from training support to health management, actively exploring practical approaches for the integration of sports and education, and promoting the high-quality development of water sports in Liaoning Province and across the country. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on multiple topics including the international development of college sports, integration of sports and education, cooperation on international events, talent training and multi-dimensional collaborative approaches for smart management.
Vice Chairman Li Xin spoke highly of the college's development achievements. He pointed out that the college's practices in integrating sports and education are highly consistent with national strategies. Hosting international events can help the college raise its profile and expand international cooperation networks. In addition, the college is well equipped with advanced medical and health testing devices, fully capable of delivering high-standard medical and health services for water sports athletes. He suggested that the college could further provide rehabilitation support for national teams where conditions permit, to facilitate resource coordination between the college and national sports teams. He also stressed that the two sides enjoy great potential in sharing medical, health and scientific research resources. As a major province for water sports with unique coastal geographical advantages, Liaoning can support the college to develop featured programs such as water emergency rescue, so as to further enrich the connotation of sports-education integration.

During this inspection, the two sides reached a consensus that sports serve as a strategic pillar for education. Going forward, both parties will focus on implementable projects. The top priority is to continue providing sound support for major sports events and press ahead with the cooperation in training sports rehabilitation specialists. On this basis, the two sides will further expand substantive cooperation in team organization for competitions, joint talent training and medical and health resource sharing, establish a resource coordination mechanism covering provincial and national sports teams, and jointly write a new chapter for the integration of sports and education as well as the high-quality development of sports undertakings.
