Taking the Visit as a Medium · Jointly Initiating the Dialogue
On July 10, a delegation of six people including Zheng Peng, Dean of the College of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Dalian Ocean University, Liu Bingbing, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee, Zhang Yunpeng, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee, and Chang Wanting, Director of the Comprehensive Office, visited our college for research and exchange. Yang Jie, President of our college, Ai Lisi, Vice President, Xue Fei, Minister of the Publicity Department, Gao Hongyin, Dean of the College of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and others warmly received the delegation and accompanied the guests on a site visit of the campus. As a vocational college with industry-education integration as its distinctive foundation and industry colleges as its characteristic fulcrum, our college demonstrated to the guests its distinctive development model of industry-education integration — the teaching models of "scenario-based school running" and "going out of the classroom into the factory, and bringing problems back to the classroom" implemented by the college left a deep impression on Dean Zheng Peng and his party, who praised our college's pragmatic exploration of moving classrooms onto the production line and turning workshops into training grounds.
Taking History as a Mirror · Tracing the Source of Vocational Education
In the Social History Museum of the China Vocational Education Association, Dean Zheng Peng and his party, following the historical thread of the century-long development of vocational education, learned in detail about Mr. Huang Yanpei's vocational education purpose of "enabling the jobless to have jobs and those with jobs to enjoy their work" and the exploratory footprints of generations of vocational educators. The guests gained an in-depth and meticulous understanding of the exhibition philosophy and construction standards of the museum in highlighting its united-front character, underscoring its educational character, and reflecting its non-governmental character. What was particularly praised by the guests was that our college has deeply integrated AI technology into the museum's construction and exhibition experience — means such as intelligent guided tours, virtual restoration, and interactive narrative make the century-long history of vocational education perceptible and tangible, everlasting and renewed. Dean Zheng Peng and his party marveled at the college's innovative practice of activating history with digital technology and empowering education with smart exhibitions, and praised it as a vivid demonstration of a "dialogue between history and technology." The guests believed that the museum is both a window for looking back at the original aspiration and a classroom for building consensus, and expressed that they were deeply inspired and greatly moved.
Taking Innovation as the Engine · Deep Mutual Learning
During the exchange and discussion session, Dean Gao Hongyin started from the historical evolution, strategic landscape, and development layout of the group-run college, and systematically introduced the school-running model and education ecosystem oriented toward employment and featuring collaborative education through industry-education integration. Dean Zheng Peng shared the systematic thinking of Dalian Ocean University in deeply integrating the "343" education system with innovation-entrepreneurship education — from curriculum embedding and competition-driven approaches to project incubation and achievement transformation, as well as the education approach of "integration of specialization and innovation, and integration of science and education." The two sides expressed their respective views and spoke freely. The leaders of the two colleges further conducted in-depth exchanges and ideological collisions around multiple fields such as AI-empowered teaching, smart campus construction, and the building of campus culture brands, broadening each other's educational horizons through the collision of ideas.
Taking Cooperation as the Way · Jointly Writing a New Chapter
This research visit by Dalian Ocean University to our college is both a proactive approach and in-depth attention from a high-level undergraduate institution to the type positioning and development logic of vocational education, and an instance of mutual learning and "shared beauty among all" between undergraduate education and vocational education in educational philosophy and industry-education integration paradigms. In the context of the times of accelerating the building of a modern vocational education system, undergraduate institutions entering vocational colleges and understanding vocational colleges themselves signify that the status of vocational education as a type of education is increasingly prominent and its value is increasingly seen. Taking this visit as an opportunity, our college will continue to uphold the educational original aspiration of "determining education by industry and determining learning by posts," promote a better integration of the "substance" of industry colleges and the "novelty" of innovation-entrepreneurship education, join hands with sister colleges, jointly answer the fundamental question of "whom to cultivate, how to cultivate, and for whom to cultivate," and walk in the same direction and jointly open a new chapter on the broad road of collaborative education.
