On July 16, a delegation from Liaoning Vocational College of Light Industry, including Li Xiao, Deputy Director of the Party and Government Office; Liu Yang, Deputy Director of the Information Technology Center; Chen Jie, Deputy Director of the Party Committee Propaganda and United Front Work Department; Zhang Wenming, Deputy Dean of the Art College; and Zheng Zhong, a backbone teacher, visited our college to conduct research and exchange on AI-empowered education and teaching. ellis, Vice President of the College, and Xue Fei, Director of the Publicity Department, warmly received the guests.
The delegation first toured the campus. Relying on the advantages of group-based education, our college has built multiple industry colleges with distinctive features around different industrial directions, forming a clear pattern of industry-education integration that left a deep impression on the guests. During the tour, the guests focused on visiting the History Museum of the China Vocational Education Association (CVEA). The museum not only inherits the century-long historical context of vocational education but also incorporates new practices empowered by AI technology. As a member unit of the China Vocational Education Association, Liaoning Vocational College of Light Industry resonated particularly with this, deeply feeling the organic convergence of vocational education tradition and digital innovation.
During the exchange session, Vice President ellis introduced the overall development of the group and the college to the guests, covering the group-based education system, industry-education integration practices, and international education layout, giving the guests a comprehensive understanding of the college's development trajectory and educational characteristics.
In the thematic exchange session on AI-empowered education and teaching, Director Xue Fei systematically shared the college's thinking and practices in driving comprehensive reform in management and teaching through deep AI integration. Director Xue Fei pointed out that the college places the high-quality development of AI education at the core strategic position, and the key to reform lies in the upgrading of concepts, emphasizing that the popularization and application of AI thinking is the true foundation of reform. The college follows a progressive path from 1.0 to 5.0 — ice-breaking → hands-on practice → typical cases → integration → digital employees — to advance deep AI integration. AI has been applied on a regular basis in multiple fields including administrative office work, academic affairs management, campus security, and intelligent operations and maintenance, significantly improving management and teaching efficiency. In the future, the college will continue to explore application scenarios, build a large-scale intelligent ecosystem, and make digital employees a working habit.
The atmosphere of the exchange session was warm. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on a series of issues including top-level planning for vocational education in the AI era, technical foundations and platform architecture, landing application scenarios and business value, knowledge base construction and operation and maintenance iteration, personnel training systems, and promotion strategies and landing paths. The guests spoke highly of our college's systematic reform approach with AI thinking as the foundation, the progressive path as the handle, and digital employees as the goal, and stated that this research provided valuable reference for Liaoning Vocational College of Light Industry in advancing AI-empowered education and teaching.
This research and exchange enhanced mutual understanding between the two colleges in the field of AI-empowered education and teaching, laying a good foundation for subsequent deepening of cooperation. Both sides expressed that they would take this exchange as an opportunity to maintain close communication on the new track of AI-empowered vocational education, jointly explore effective paths for digital transformation, and contribute together to promoting the high-quality development of vocational education.
