This summer, on the courts of the International Youth Bowling Championship in Kuching, Malaysia, the China National Youth Bowling Team fought bravely and pursued their dreams. On and off the court, a young rehabilitation therapist in a white coat provided full-course support for the team, silently safeguarding the athletes' competitive form. He moved between the training hall, the competition venue, and the hotel, protecting the event with his professional rehabilitation skills. He is Zhao Zijie, a student of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation Technology program at our Medical and Nursing Industry College.

Accumulation on the Competition Ground: Deep Cultivation in the Practical Training Classroom, School-Enterprise Joint Cultivation of Solid Skills

To precisely cultivate high-quality, versatile sports rehabilitation talent, the College has actively deepened industry-education integration and, together with the Water Sports Management Center of Liaoning Province, built a school-enterprise joint training platform, opening an integrated education pathway that connects on-campus teaching, laboratory training, and frontline sports practice.

During his time at school, Zhao Zijie diligently immersed himself in the professional classroom. Relying on the College's modular and tiered practical training system, he systematically honed basic Tuina (Chinese therapeutic massage) techniques such as rolling, pressing, kneading, and pushing, and specialized in assessing and treating common sports injuries of the lower back, shoulders and neck, wrists and ankles. He mastered distinctive rehabilitation techniques including myofascial release, Long-style spinal manipulation, and kinesio taping. Combined with professional courses such as fundamental TCM theory, sports injury science, and rehabilitation assessment, he achieved deep integration of theory and practice. Day after day of repeated practice in the training room, plus the real-world sports rehabilitation experience from school-enterprise joint training, equipped him with solid expertise in sports injury management and physical recovery, laying a professional foundation for competing in international events.

Daily Life at the Event: With Professional Dedication, Full-Course Safeguarding of the Event

During the event, Zhao Zijie maintained a high-intensity, high-quality medical support routine, staying on duty until late at night every day. In the early morning, he completed kinesio taping, physical assessment, and protective preparation for the athletes; during competitions, he stayed on the court to handle sudden conditions such as muscle strain and joint discomfort; after competitions, he went deep into the lodgings to provide Tuina relaxation, fascia release, and physical conditioning.

With no fixed clinic, the training hall, the competition rest area, and the hotel rooms became his temporary rehabilitation posts. With meticulous, rigorous, and professional service, he helped every athlete relieve sports fatigue, avoid sports injuries, and maintain optimal competitive form.

Moment of Honor: With the Power of Youth, Helping the National Youth Team Achieve Excellent Results

Under Zhao Zijie's full-course, standardized, and professional medical support, the China National Youth Bowling Team performed steadily in this international event, with both the women's team and the mixed doubles advancing into the global top 16. The entire team maintained zero major injuries and a stable condition throughout. Behind the outstanding results lies the precise rehabilitation support and silent dedication behind the scenes.

"I don't need to stand on the podium, but I must ensure that every player who takes the field can compete in the best possible condition." This was Zhao Zijie's true voice after the competition, and a vivid portrayal of the responsibility and commitment of a Maple Leaf student.

From Classroom to the International Arena, Educational Achievements Shine on the Court

Zhao Zijie's experience providing medical support at the international event is a vivid microcosm of the College's high-quality educational achievements. Relying on its "four-in-one" education model of "theory classroom + lab practice + school-enterprise sports training + hospital clinical internship," and leveraging the joint-training resources with the Water Sports Management Center of Liaoning Province, the College has built a growth platform for students from campus training, specialized training, and clinical rotation to high-end event practice, cultivating high-quality TCM rehabilitation and sports rehabilitation skilled talent step by step.

From the relentless refinement in the campus training room to the composure and responsibility on the international court, Zhao Zijie has walked a brilliant path of growth as a student of a higher vocational college, with solid professional skills, rigorous professional ethics, and youthful commitment. In the future, may Maple Leaf students continue to move forward with their skills, safeguard sports health with professional strength, and shine their youthful light on a broader stage.
