To thoroughly implement the fundamental task of 'fostering virtue through education,' deepen the distinctive Maple Leaf approach to nurturing students, and guide the Class of 2026 freshmen to appreciate the century-old spirit of vocational education and clarify their path to skill-based success, on August 12 the Secondary Vocational School of Dalian Maple Leaf College of Technology organized all its 2026-cohort freshmen to travel to the Qidingshan Campus for an immersive field-study practice activity.

The study tour divided the freshmen into three groups for staggered visits, each accompanied by dedicated docents who guided them throughout, as they proceeded in turn to the library's educational spaces, the training bases of various industry colleges, and the comprehensive gymnasium — turning it into a 'mobile classroom of ideological and political education' that empowered both character-building and professional initiation.

The first stop of the study tour was the Qidingshan Campus library, whose first, fourth, and fifth floors are arranged into distinctive functional zones that together form an all-round cultural-education space. The fifth floor houses the History Museum of the China Vocational Education Association, which, relying on digital exhibition technologies such as AI image restoration and holographic projection, presents the CVEA's century-long development in full. The students paused to read and quietly reflected, deeply grasping the founding aspiration of 'enabling the jobless to find employment and those employed to enjoy their work,' and rooting in their hearts the core spirit of vocational education — 'the integration of hand and brain, and dedication to work and community.'

The first-floor 'Maple Leaf AI Teaching Equipment Hall' comprehensively showcases the College's industry-education integration layout and the educational features of each major, helping freshmen quickly build professional awareness and clarify their learning goals. The fourth floor, based on the College's coastal-location character, features a 'Carbon Neutrality · Green Future' zone, where students used waste materials to make eco-friendly creative products, putting low-carbon and green concepts into practice. The zone is equipped with specialized collections on various industries and digital reading devices, providing ample resources for students' independent study.

After finishing the library's cultural study, the students proceeded in turn into the training centers of various industry colleges, immersing themselves in the College's distinctive education model that deeply integrates 'posts, courses, competitions, and certifications.' Placed within diverse training scenarios, they felt the charm of the professional frontier and understood the educational value of mutual reinforcement between skills training and ideological-and-scientific popularization. Afterwards, the little Maple Leaves moved on to the campus comprehensive gymnasium, which features standardized multi-purpose venues that can host daily teaching, sports events, team-building activities, and more — accompanying the little Maple Leaves in their all-round growth in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education.

The entire immersive study journey left every little Maple Leaf of Maple Leaf richly rewarded and deeply moved. One student shared: 'My understanding of vocational education used to be very superficial — I simply thought it meant learning a trade. Only after walking into the century-old CVEA history museum and visiting various high-standard training venues this time did I truly feel the profound cultural depth of vocational education and the College's strong, hard-power of nurturing talent.' Books nourish the mind, and training hones skills — this mobile, real-scene classroom sowed the seeds of the ideal of serving the country through skills in the little Maple Leaves. They all made up their minds: to study diligently and train hard, refine their craftsmanship, and firmly set out on their own path of skill-based success.

This real-scene study activity is a key part of the school's introductory education for new students. Going forward, the College will always uphold its fundamental mission of 'educating people for the Party and cultivating talent for the country,' continuously leverage the collaborative educational strengths of its dual campuses in Daheishi and Qidingshan, and conduct diversified practical study activities on a regular basis. By guiding the little Maple Leaves of Maple Leaf to hone their professional skills and solidify their foundations for growth, the College will cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talent that meets the needs of regional industrial development, and fully empower the high-quality development of modern vocational education in Liaoning.
