To thoroughly implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and to vigorously promote the spirit of educators, our college has anchored itself to the core goals of "promoting teaching through competition, promoting learning through competition, promoting reform through competition, and promoting institution-building through competition," striving to enhance the comprehensive teaching and research capabilities of its faculty and build a high-quality, specialized vocational-education teaching team. Aligned precisely with provincial competition standards and participation requirements, on August 14, 2026, our college successfully held the 2026 Liaoning Provincial Vocational College Skills Competition — Teaching Ability Competition College-Level Selection Round in Conference Room 504 of Building 5 at the Qidingshan Campus.
To ensure the professionalism, fairness, and authority of the evaluation, the competition established a review committee composed of five senior in-house experts, who independently scored according to the unified provincial scoring standards to guarantee objective and impartial results. Heads of various teaching units, participating teachers, and representatives of backbone faculty attended the event, jointly engaging in competition observation, peer review, and teaching discussion, fostering a strong atmosphere of mutual learning and teaching improvement across the college.
The on-site presentation consisted of two segments: a teaching-implementation report and a student-free teaching demonstration. A total of eight teaching teams advanced to the on-site presentation, spanning multiple teaching units including Medical Nursing, Smart City Service, Safety & Emergency Management and Cryptography, Digital Economy, the School of Marxism, and the Computer Course Group. The presentations covered courses such as critical and emergency care nursing, building-collapse rescue techniques, teller business operations, a hands-on AI-tools guide, Introduction to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, rehabilitation assessment techniques, cabin safety and emergency response, and brand image design. Anchoring their designs to talent-training plans and actual student profiles, each team integrated concepts such as the fusion of posts, courses, competitions, and certificates, the school-enterprise dual-partner model, and the integration of theory and practice into their instructional design, presenting a high-quality showcase of teaching-reform achievements.
To strengthen the tangible effect of "promoting institution-building through competition," the contest featured a special expert-commentary segment. After every two teams presented, experts in the relevant fields offered targeted feedback. Centering on the scoring criteria, the experts provided step-by-step guidance across dimensions such as distilling teaching characteristics, implementing innovative measures, integrating ideological-political elements, highlighting the distinctive vocational-education typology, applying digital technology, and presenting authentic teaching states. They both affirmed each team's strengths in instructional design and practical demonstration, and raised improvement suggestions on common issues such as the logical through-line of reports, the infiltration of curriculum-based ideological-political education, the depth of student-analysis, and strategies for breaking through key and difficult points — charting a clear direction for teams to refine their entries and prepare for the provincial competition. The entire commentary was professional, pragmatic, and to the point, offering participating teachers a valuable teaching-development opportunity.
The successful holding of this college-level selection round not only provided our faculty with a valuable platform for exchange, learning, and skill sharpening, but also effectively advanced the innovation and dissemination of education-and-teaching reform achievements. Seizing this selection round as an opportunity, our college will further deepen curriculum reform, strengthen teaching-team development, and reinforce curriculum-based ideological-political education and digital-literacy cultivation, building momentum to cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talent and drive the high-quality development of its education and teaching enterprise.
