Sharpen Skills Through Competition, Strive for Excellence Through Courage — Students of the Intelligent Manufacturing Future College Win Silver Medal (Formerly First Prize) in the Higher Vocational College Group at the National Finals of the 14th China In

Recently, the National Finals of the 14th China Industrial Intelligence Challenge (CIIC) concluded. Students of our Intelligent Manufacturing Future College fought tenaciously and won the Silver Medal (formerly First Prize) in the Higher Vocational College Group. In early April this year, two teachers of the Intelligent Manufacturing Future College, Jiang Wenbin and Chen Yonglin, led two student teams to officially launch the intensive preparation phase for the National Finals (Higher Vocational College Group) of this competition. All faculty and students pooled their efforts, studied intensively, and, after more than four months of systematic preparation, fully demonstrated our students' solid professional foundation and good comprehensive quality on the national high-level competition stage.

Guided and commissioned by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, supported by the Teaching Steering Committee for Automation Majors in Higher Education Institutions (under the Ministry of Education), and hosted by the Chinese Association of Automation (CAA), this competition is a highly authoritative and prestigious innovative discipline contest in the field of automation applications in China. It attracts wide participation from "Double First-Class" universities across the country, features fierce competition, and imposes rigorous assessment standards, serving as an important platform for testing the teaching quality of automation majors and the engineering practice abilities of students in higher education institutions.



During the preparation period, the instructors precisely aligned with the competition standards and led the students in comprehensive, high-intensity specialized training. The faculty-student team systematically studied the core technologies of network configuration and motion control for Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs), a series of PLCs, and servo systems, mastered the hands-on application of various professional programming and configuration software, and consolidated core professional competencies such as intelligent control, industrial configuration, and equipment linkage debugging.

Facing key and difficult tasks such as precise debugging of servo motors, real-time temperature and speed monitoring and alarm, AGV automated handling, and intelligent shortest-path scheduling, the faculty-student team rose to the challenges and tackled them repeatedly. All team members proactively used their spare time, weekends, and holidays to root themselves in the training laboratory, continuously optimizing program logic, debugging equipment parameters, and rehearsing the competition process, repeatedly refining operational details, and overcoming technical difficulties one by one—accumulating practical experience and honing a craftsmanship spirit of excellence through day-after-day dedicated practice.

On August 9, the two participating teams set out smoothly for the National Finals. On the competition stage, the team members remained calm and composed, cooperated tacitly, and operated in a standardized manner. With solid technical reserves, proficient hands-on abilities, and stable on-site performance, they successfully completed all competition tasks and ultimately won the Silver Medal (formerly First Prize) in the Higher Vocational College Group, fully demonstrating our students' superb professional skills, rigorous engineering thinking, and uplifting spirit.

The preparation for and participation in this national competition is a vivid practice of the Intelligent Manufacturing Future College's teaching philosophy of "promoting teaching through competition, promoting learning through competition, promoting practice through competition, and promoting reform through competition." In the next step, the college will continue to rely on high-level discipline competition platforms, deepen professional teaching reform, strengthen the cultivation of students' innovative practice and engineering application abilities, build higher-quality competition and showcase platforms for students' growth and success, and continuously elevate the quality of talent cultivation in intelligent-manufacturing-related majors to a new level.
