At the turn of late summer and early autumn, where the mountains meet the sea. Carrying their ideals and hopes, on August 29 the Class of 2026 arrived at the Daheishi Campus of Dalian Maple Leaf College of Technology as promised. Welcome banners fluttered in the breeze across the campus, and warm guidance signs led the way to the registration site. Faculty and students greeted the newcomers with smiles, and an atmosphere of enthusiasm and anticipation filled every corner as a grand freshman welcome event unfolded in a warm and orderly manner.

Attaching great importance to the freshman welcome work, the College made advance plans and held multiple special deployment meetings to refine each step of the process. The College set up separate welcome pickup stations at Dalian Railway Station, Dalian North Railway Station, Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport, and Dalian Port, so that students would feel the warmth of the Maple Leaf family from the very first stop after stepping off the train or ship.

Upon entering the campus, staff at each school's registration desk performed their duties, with steps such as new-student information verification, document collection, campus card issuance, and dormitory key distribution closely coordinated. Faculty and student volunteers moved through every corner of the campus, proactively helping new students with luggage and directing them along their routes, and explaining in person the program curricula, scholarship and financial-aid policies, and pathways for advancing from junior college to undergraduate studies. Their attentive and caring companionship eased the newcomers' initial awkwardness, letting both students and parents feel the deep warmth of the Maple Leaf campus.

Next to the registration desks, dedicated parent rest areas and an intangible cultural heritage experience zone were set up, drawing new students and parents to stop, rest, and take part—reflecting, in every thoughtful detail, the College's care and cultural spirit.

After completing the registration procedures, the new students strolled around the campus under the guidance of volunteers, getting an early taste of college life; parents also walked into the student dormitories and cafeterias to see the accommodations and daily facilities for themselves, feeling more reassured and hopeful about their children's independent lives.

On the day of registration, the College's leaders went deep into the Daheishi Campus welcome site to supervise and inspect the implementation of all tasks on the spot, and extended their regards to the faculty and volunteers who stayed at their posts. At the registration desks, the leaders chatted warmly with the arriving new students and their accompanying parents, asking in detail about their journey, chosen majors, and future college plans, and encouraging everyone to cherish their college years, complete the transition to their new roles as soon as possible, and set clear goals for growth. Heartfelt advice and warm conversations captured one moving moment after another at the welcome site.

Across the campus, the carefully crafted department showcase boards and other distinctive photo-check-in spots became hugely popular 'landmarks' at the registration site. New students captured the precious moment of stepping into university here, paired their check-in photos with reflections on starting college, and shared them on WeChat Moments, joining the check-in activity and collecting the College's custom cultural-creative gifts. Each vivid photo is not only the newcomers' first encounter with the campus, but also a ritual-filled, beautiful memento on their journey toward their dreams.

As a specially invited 'welcome ambassador,' a smart robot appeared on the main registration thoroughfare, interacting friendly with new students and taking fun photos with them, making the registration process more enjoyable and letting newcomers experience the achievements of the smart-campus build-out up close, opening their college life with a tech-filled prologue.
