Study tours are on the road, and the classroom is far away. On September 5–6, students of the Medical Care program stepped off campus and headed to the city's coastal landmarks to hold a distinctive outdoor practical course.

The nursing students went first to Xinghai Square and then to Donggang for their outdoor study tour. Pausing at Xinghai Square, they gazed at the sea-crossing bridge in the distance and read the cultural imprint of the city; strolling along the Donggang waterfront, they felt the vibrant energy of the port's new district.

At Xinghai Square, the moment the bus doors opened, the wind arrived first—salty and cool—and the out-of-town students fell silent at once, while the local Dalian students were already acting as guides for their roommates: 'That's Xinghai Bay Bridge; it lights up at night.'

At Donggang, the sea revealed itself in a different way. Wooden boardwalks stretched along the coastline, masts at the yacht marina glinting in the sun, and someone recognized the International Conference Center—'the place where Davos is held!' And so Davos, once just a word in the news, became a building they could walk right up to.

The phrase 'study tour' usually sounds rather formal, but the meaning of these two days was actually quite simple: textbooks are separated by paper, while the city is immediate. The arc of Xinghai Bay Bridge sweeping across the sea, the skyline where the Davos venue stands, the unhurried steps of the citizens—the young people, who had only recently arrived in Dalian, happened to catch the city at its most vigorously growing moment.

The return trip was livelier than the outbound one; some scrolled through photos to send videos home, while others began planning to come back on their own next time.

Those who have seen the vast will hold the vast in their hearts. Every step taken over these two days was an early greeting they exchanged with this city.
