On September 7, the Smart City Service Industry College organized its Class of 2026 freshmen to travel to a camping base in Lushunkou District for a camping activity. Through free exploration, a group barbecue, talent shows, a bonfire party, and a group birthday celebration, the students spent an unforgettable day.

Upon arriving at the camp, the students scattered to enjoy themselves: swings set off peals of laughter, cheers rose now and then from the grass-sliding track, and some raised their phones to capture the mountain scenery and their companions' smiling faces. The base had prepared a barbecue for the Class of 2026 'little maple leaves.' They gathered around the grill, eating and chatting. In the afternoon, the students spontaneously formed a 'stage,' taking turns to perform; pop songs, folk songs, and campus tunes took turns on stage, with applause and cheers coming one after another.

As night fell, the bonfire party officially began. Two college leaders jointly lit the bonfire and delivered speeches, sending greetings and blessings to the students present before declaring the party open. The dancing firelight illuminated young faces, and the atmosphere was instantly pushed to a climax.

Another surprise quietly arrived — the college had prepared birthday cakes for students with birthdays in September. The whole audience sang the birthday song together, and applause and blessings merged into one. The firelight lit up smiling faces, and the atmosphere was warm and lively. The birthday students were surrounded in the crowd, made wishes toward the flickering flames, and tucked the warmth of this moment and their hopes for university life into their hearts.

An even bigger surprise was brewing in the night — fireworks shot into the sky, and the night instantly became brilliant and dazzling. The students looked up, and cheers rose and fell. The splendor of this night will eventually disperse, but the light left in their hearts will not: just like the united, upward spirit in their slogans, the road ahead is bright and the future is full of promise.

This activity is a vivid footnote to the series of orientation-education events of the Smart City Service Industry College, and also bears witness to the two-way journey of new life and new dreams. The journey has a return, but the excitement has just begun — we look forward to the Class of 2026 freshmen carrying this enthusiasm and meeting a better version of themselves on the stage of university.
