Recently, the Office of the Dalian Shipbuilding Talent Supply Guarantee Work Mechanism issued a quarterly work report, summarizing and circulating the phased work of its member units in serving Dalian’s shipbuilding industry and guaranteeing the industry’s talent supply. Our college has proactively undertaken provincial and municipal industry-talent tasks, deeply aligned with the needs of local key industry chains, and with the Future College of Smart Manufacturing and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship College working in concert, has achieved solid results in enterprise docking and talent delivery, and the relevant work has been commended in the circular.
To address the talent gap in Dalian’s shipbuilding industry, under the overall deployment of the Municipal Education Bureau, our college actively joined the Dalian Shipbuilding Talent Supply Guarantee Work Mechanism, proactively docked with leading local shipbuilding manufacturers such as Hengli Heavy Industry Group, Dalian COSCO Kawasaki Heavy Industry Engineering Co., Ltd., and Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., and built a two-way enterprise-school talent bridge.
The Future College of Smart Manufacturing, leveraging its disciplinary strengths, bravely shoulders the responsibility of talent cultivation and delivery. Aligning with enterprise post needs, the college organized more than 500 students from relevant majors to participate in recruitment briefings and interviews, and a total of 55 students successfully joined shipbuilding manufacturing enterprises, delivering a batch of high-quality technical and skilled talent to the front line of Dalian’s shipbuilding industry, practically responding to the city’s shipbuilding labor demand and putting industry-education integration into real employment.
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship College brought its innovation-and-entrepreneurship platform advantages into play, inviting three leading shipbuilding enterprises onto campus for exclusive recruitment events, helping cultivate innovative industrial talent. Centering on equipment manufacturing and intelligent shipbuilding, the college excavates innovation and entrepreneurship projects, using various innovation and entrepreneurship competitions as a lever to guide students to carry out innovation practice based on the shipbuilding and smart-manufacturing industries, turning real industry needs into students’ innovation topics, promoting learning and creation through competition, and striving to cultivate compound industrial reserve talent with both professional skills and innovative thinking, building a collaborative education model of "professional cultivation + innovation practice."
The two colleges work closely together, oriented to serving local industries, opening up the whole chain of "professional teaching – internship practice – employment output – innovation incubation," implementing the mission of vocational education to serve the regional economy, and delivering a "Maple Leaf answer sheet" of collaborative industry-education education.
Next, the college will continue to implement the provincial and municipal deployments on industry-education integration and industrial talent guarantee. Under the college’s overall leadership, the Future College of Smart Manufacturing will continue to deepen school-enterprise cooperation with leading shipbuilding enterprises, exploring diversified cultivation models such as order-based classes, enterprise practice, and co-built curricula; the Innovation and Entrepreneurship College will continue to excavate and cultivate quality innovation projects around the equipment-manufacturing industry. In the future, the college will constantly optimize its talent-cultivation supply, continuously outputting "Maple Leaf strength" for the high-quality development of Dalian’s shipbuilding and high-end smart-manufacturing industries.
