To deepen industry-education integration, build a high-quality teaching practice platform, and let students of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation Technology program experience the charm of competitive sports up close while enhancing their professional practical understanding, on October 16, 2026, led by Wang Shan, Dean of the Nursing Industry College, more than 200 students from the Class of 2025 in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation Technology program visited the Liaoning Water Sports Management Center for a study tour. Du Hairong, Director of the Research and Medical Department of the Liaoning Water Sports Management Center, and Mu Yuanchun, Deputy Director, accompanied and explained throughout the visit.

The Liaoning Water Sports Management Center is affiliated with the Liaoning Provincial Sports Bureau and is a provincial directly subordinate public institution. It offers eight Olympic events: rowing, coastal rowing, kayaking, slalom, windsurfing, field hockey, softball, and surfing. Having devoted itself to competitive sports for over four decades, the Center is known as a "cradle of champions" and a "talent base."

Over the past forty-plus years, the Center has sent large numbers of top athletic talents to the nation and won countless honors: more than 50 individuals have won World Cup and World Championship titles; over 90 have broken world records; and more than 2,000 have won Asian and national championships. Across the five consecutive National Games from 2009 to 2025, it claimed 38 gold medals and was named a Liaoning Province "Unit That Made Outstanding Contributions to the National Games."
Led by Director Du Hairong, the students visited the training venues in person, learned about the daily training routines of athletes in each event, and studied knowledge of sports injury prevention and sports rehabilitation, gaining an intuitive understanding of the application scenarios of rehabilitation technology in competitive sports, and closely integrating classroom theory with clinical practice in sports rehabilitation.
At present, 12 of our students are already conducting teaching practice at this base, assigned to different event teams to immerse themselves in the medical support and rehabilitation assistance work of the sports teams. This study tour further opens up the collaborative education channel between the college and the sports base, broadening the practical path for cultivating talents in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation Technology program.
In the future, the Nursing Industry College will continue to advance industry-education integration, relying on high-quality off-campus practice base resources to cultivate versatile rehabilitation professionals who understand theory and can put it into practice, helping students grow and succeed on the sports rehabilitation track!
