On July 25th, the finals of the 9th Industrial Information Security Skills Competition — Cryptography Application Security Championship were successfully held at Dalian Maple Leaf College of Technology. The competition was hosted by the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center, organized by Dalian Maple Leaf College of Technology, with Beijing Nengjia Technology Co., Ltd. providing technical support.

This cryptography application security championship represents an important initiative to actively implement the Cryptography Law of the People's Republic of China, the Cybersecurity Law of the People's Republic of China, and the Commercial Cryptography Management Regulations, and to promote high-quality development of the commercial cryptography industry. Through the competition, the goals of "promoting learning through competition, promoting evaluation through competition, promoting reform through competition, and promoting management through competition" are achieved, along with "popularizing cryptography knowledge, discovering cryptography talents, and strengthening the cryptography industry." The competition enhances the comprehensive practical capabilities and professional levels of cryptography practitioners, promotes innovation in cryptography professional courses at colleges and universities, and accelerates the building of cryptography talent reserves with solid business capabilities and strong practical abilities.

As the first organizer in Liaoning Province to undertake the Industrial Information Security Skills Competition, our college attached great importance to and fully committed to various preparatory work, building solid guarantees for the smooth progress of the competition. From establishing a special working group led by college leaders, clarifying division of responsibilities among departments, supervising implementation through multiple rounds of promotion meetings, to renovating the competition venue according to professional requirements, our college demonstrated its responsibility and capability in hosting large-scale events through practical actions.

Under the guidance of the Liaoning Provincial State Cryptography Administration, the Cryptography Application Security Seminar hosted by Dalian Maple Leaf College of Technology was held concurrently. The seminar explored themes including the current situation and exploration of talent in the cryptography application security field, the current application and development prospects of commercial cryptography in manufacturing and transportation industries, feasible solutions for large-scale commercial cryptography application and product testing system construction, and the upgrading path of commercial cryptography industry from the perspective of new quality productive forces. Representatives from government, industry, academia, research, and application sectors conducted full exchanges and discussions.

This competition selected participants nationwide through online preliminary rounds, with 20 teams advancing to the offline finals. The expert judging panel was composed of authoritative experts in the cryptography field, including Fang Xianjin, Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Anhui University of Science and Technology; Peng Hao, Director of the Network Security Research Institute at Zhejiang Normal University and Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Provincial Network Security Association; and Qiu Biqing, cryptography expert from the Inspection and Evaluation Institute of the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center, providing professional and authoritative guarantees throughout the competition.

The successful holding of the finals of the 9th Industrial Information Security Skills Competition — Cryptography Application Security Championship not only provided a valuable opportunity for professional talents in the industry to exchange, learn, and compete, but also effectively promoted innovation and popularization of cryptography application security technologies. Our college will take this event as an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation with industry enterprises, continuously optimize talent cultivation programs, contribute to cultivating more high-quality industrial information security talents, and add bricks and tiles to the vigorous development of China's industrial information security cause.
